How accurate are Tidewell’s tide times?
Tidewell calculates tide times using harmonic tidal analysis — the same well-established method used to produce most published tide tables. Predictions are typically accurate to within minutes for a normal day, but they are estimates and should never be used for navigation or safety-critical decisions.
Does Tidewell work offline?
Yes. Tidewell works completely offline — every tide prediction is calculated and stored on your device, so you get full tide times and the live tide curve with no signal at all, including in airplane mode.
Which locations does Tidewell support?
Tidewell covers coastal tide stations worldwide, with a curated set available at launch and more added over time. You can search for any supported station by name, or let Tidewell find the nearest one to you automatically.
Is Tidewell free?
Tidewell is free to download with no account needed — you get tide times and the live tide curve for one station right away. A single one-time purchase (Tidewell Pro) unlocks unlimited favourite stations, Home and Lock Screen widgets, and tide alarms. There is no subscription.
Can I get alerts before high and low tide?
Yes. Tidewell can send you a gentle alarm ahead of every high and low tide at your favourite stations — pick how much advance notice you want, and it works even offline since the prediction is already on your device.
What is the live tide curve in Tidewell?
A tide curve is a graph showing how water height changes over the course of a day. Tidewell draws yours live and animated for your chosen station, so you can see at a glance exactly where the water level sits right now, and how fast it’s rising or falling.
Does Tidewell have Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets?
Yes. Tidewell includes Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that show the next high or low tide for your favourite station at a glance — no need to open the app. They’re part of the one-time Pro unlock.
How many stations can I favourite?
Free users can favourite one tide station in Tidewell. Unlocking Tidewell Pro with a single one-time purchase removes that limit, so you can favourite as many stations as you like.
Where does Tidewell get its tide data, and is it official?
Tidewell is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by any hydrographic office or government agency. It calculates tide predictions from open tidal-constituent data using the same harmonic methods used to produce official tide tables.
